Serdar (Ian) Tuncay is a civil-structural engineer with more than twenty years of experience in design engineer, engineering-project management and specific proficiency in handling multi-million projects in heavy industrial (Iron & Steel, Mining, Cement, Oil & Gas), ICI and power industry EPC, EPCM construction projects. He received his bachelor's Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Istanbul Technical University at Istanbul in 1987. He worked for different Engineering-Consulting and Construction companies in the variety of heavy industrial, ICI and residential projects providing multidisciplinary engineering, consulting and supervision services throughout Turkey and abroad. He started his career at Foster Wheeler’s Istanbul branch office as structural design engineer from 1989 to 1996. During his work in Foster Wheeler, he received his Master of Science degree in structural analysis from Istanbul Technical University in 1993. He was involved in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refineries and other industrial (pharmaceutical, Mining and other Commercial-Institutional) projects. Then he I changed his career field into precast concrete industry. He worked as Senior Structural Engineer for Yapi Merkezi Prefabrication (Precast) Inc. from 1996 to 2003. Third, he worked for Erdemir Engineering, Management and Consulting Inc. as Structural Department Manager and Deputy Director of Engineering Department from 2003 to 2013. He performed and led civil-structural design studies, planned project schedules, conducted cost estimates for civil-structural works, cost impact of changes, modifications and alternatives, specifications for construction projects ($ 7 Billion total budgeted) in two integrated Iron & Steel plants. In 2013 he immigrated to Canada. He worked for SNC-Lavalin and different consulting-structural engineering companies in Ontario. During the past decade his work has focused upon structural engineering and project management in charge of coordinating a wide range of heavy industrial, commercial and residential projects.
